December Newletter

Category: General

This year we are going to follow the Derry, NH school district’s policy on cancellation and delayed openings, as the majority of our staff comes from that direction and their safety is also my concern.  You will be able to find this information on WMUR.  So…if there is NO school in Derry, NH OR Salem, NH, Silverthorne Adult Day will also be closed.  If there is a delay in Derry OR Salem, Silverthorne will open at 10:30, instead of 8:30.  You may also call my cell phone if you have a question….603-867-3363.  Another reminder, we are closed tomorrow, Dec. 24th and we are open on Monday, December 27th.  We are also closed on Friday, December 31st and will reopen on Monday, January 3rd.

Please check out our Facebook Page – Silverthorne Adult Day- for pictures of our daily happenings and activities.  We’ve had great fun decorating and making gifts for our families all month!  We had a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus this week to hand out the very special gifts for our participants provided by the Salem Rotary Club.  Regina Adler and the Rotary Club have been providing gifts for our participants for many, many years.  They always go above and beyond shopping specifically for each of our participants who are always very appreciative of their efforts, as are we!!

I’d also like to thank the Salem Woman’s Club for their very generous donation.  Grants provide us the ability to help families that may not have the financial means to attend our program.  Unfortunately for many, neither Medicare nor any private health insurance companies cover the cost of adult day care leaving us to depend on the generosity of our partners to help.

Another thank you needs to be sent to County Commissioner, Tom Tombarello and everyone at the Commissioner’s Office for their continued support of the seniors of Rockingham County.  That support helped to get us through this most challenging couple of years.

Lastly, a very special thank you goes out to all of our families for remembering us during this holiday season.   I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and am praying for a healthy and peaceful New Year!

Maria

Dear Silverthorne Families and Friends,

As we are heading into the time of year that we are likely to experience inclement weather, I wanted to be sure that we all have the same information.
